Artistic Director Ed Flesch recently spent a very productive week in New York holding auditions for our upcoming production of A CHRISTMAS STORY. With separate calls for Equity and Non-Equity, principals and ensemble members plus agent submissions and callbacks, he and Musical Director Mary Ehlinger saw nearly 600 people over the course of the week. He was happy to report “many excellent candidates to consider for each role.” It’s always fun to speculate about whether the cast will include any favorite performers that have worked with before and what new talents he’ll be bringing to Wisconsin for the first time.

For this show, there’s also the question of who will earn the featured role of young Ralphie – the boy who wants nothing more for Christmas than an official Red Ryder Carbine-Action 200-shot Range Model Air Rifle!  Those auditions are still to come – on Wednesday, July 31st at 7:00 p.m.  We are participating in a joint youth audition with Children’s Theatre of Madison in the Rotunda Studio at the Overture Center for the Arts, 201 State Street, Madison, WI. For more info on the ages and requirements for the audition, please see our Frequently Asked Questions page.
