“When you see a guy reach for stars in the sky, you can bet that he’s doin’ it for some doll . . .”
Our brand-new production of the Broadway classic GUYS AND DOLLS is set to open on February 27th and will run through April 12th. The plot follows two romances and it’s those characters that lead our cast of “guys” and “dolls.” Performing the rules of Sergeant Sarah Brown of the Save-A-Soul Mission is Elysia Jordan. Elysia is new to our stage but recently opened the First National Tour of SCHOOL OF ROCK as Mrs. Hathaway. Sky Masterson, the mysterious and successful gambler from out of town who bets higher than anybody. (“Why do you think they call him Sky?, says Nathan.) This is Michael’s third production at The Fireside but the first where he can show his face, having starred previously as the Phantom in Kopit & Yeston’s PHANTOM and the Beast in Disney’s BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. Theirs is a surprising romance to say the least!
Our other pair marks their 14th Anniversary at the beginning of the show – they’ve been engaged for 14 years. Miss Adelaide, star of the Hot Box, is played by Kerri Rose. New to the Milwaukee theatre scene with other Regional, Film, and TV credits, Kerri’s first show at The Fireside was last summer’s production of ANNIE where she appeared as Lily St. Regis. Matthew Ruff follows recent Fireside performances as Norman Petty in BUDDY and Fusco in SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER as he brings to life the character of Nathan Detroit. Nathan operates “The Oldest Established Permanent Floating Crap Game in New York,” much to the chagrin of both Miss Adelaide and Lt. Brannigan of the New York Police Department.
Please join us as the fun and romances all unfold in this one-of-a-kind Broadway delight. If you’re a frequent guest, you’ll see a few more familiar faces alongside more great new talent. Click here for the complete cast list with photos and bios.
