This Thanksgiving, more than ever before, it’s important to be thankful for all that we have. It’s easy to wish we could turn back the clock and get a re-play on this year but “wishing doesn’t make it so,” and so we carry on.

Here at The Fireside we have much to be thankful for, most especially our loyal patrons who have supported us in many ways from simply agreeing to transfer your reservation to next year, attending our weekend concerts, coming out for a Friday Night Fish Fry, ordering curbside carryout dinners, visiting our gift shops or shopping online, and buying gift cards knowing we’ll be here when your guest is ready to attend. Your understanding and support means more than you can imagine.

We are also thankful for our management team and core staff who have in many cases stepped into roles not usually in their job description. They have taken the terms “other duties as assigned” and “whatever it takes” to great heights. That can-do spirit was especially evident this week as we prepared 214 Thanksgiving Take & Bake dinners for Wednesday’s pick-up. What an awesome team effort that was! The staff is incredibly thankful for the strong and visionary leadership of Ryan and Kristi Klopcic as they guide us to safely and successfully to the other side of the pandemic.

More thanks go out to the amazing performers who have graced our stage since beginning the interim concert series in June. Our own Artistic Director Ed Flesch kicked it off with Laura Cable followed by several Fireside favorites including Steve Watts, Bianca Horn, Tommy Hahn, and Matt McClure. We were also thrilled to find talented artists to pay tribute to such music icons as Patsy Cline, Elvis Presley, John Denver, and Elton John. If we are unable to re-start our regular theatre season in January, we will find more great entertainment to fill that void.

As you celebrate Thanksgiving and the holiday season, we pray you are well and able to be in touch in some fashion with those closest to you. Be mindful of your blessings, help those you can, and look forward as we do to better days ahead, when we can all be together again!
