Entering the ring on Thursday, September 12th is the hard-hitting yet tender musical adaptation of ROCKY! The Rocky film series is among the most popular of all time and Rocky’s story is a perfect fit for The Fireside stage. With equal parts grit and heart, Rocky is about the triumph of spirit, strength, and love. TIME Magazine called it “A Broadway Musical with both spectacle and heart!”
The Fireside is proud to welcome two newcomers to our stage in the lead roles of Rocky and Adrian. Coming to The Fireside with credits, including understudying the role of Rocky on Broadway, is Adrian Aguilar. He has performed on stages and screens all over the country in his 20-year career, but he calls Chicago home. Born and raised in the burbs, he chose to come back to the Midwest to start his career and family, rather than the typical path to NYC. He has been married to the woman of his dreams for nearly 14 years, and they live a quiet life in Evanston with their son. Adrian considers himself to be the luckiest person on the planet and we consider ourselves lucky to have landed him for this featured role!
Alyssa H. Chase performs the role of Adrian, Rocky’s love interest. She is a Manhattan based actor/singer, mindfulness guide, and communications coach. Her favorite performances include roles in Charles Ludlam’s ARTIFICIAL JUNGLE (Off-Broadway, 1st NYC Revival), MOON OVER BUFFALO and DON’T DRESS FOR DINNER (The Theater Barn), PERIOD OF ADJUSTMENT (Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater), THE BIKINIS: A Musical Beach Party (Downstairs Cabaret Theatre), and many films, TV, commercials, and workshops. Alyssa is a graduate of Smith College and The American Musical and Dramatic Academy.
