The Fireside Dinner Theatre in Fort Atkinson is seeking girls and boys for their production of MATILDA The Musical. The show runs from July 18 – September 1, 2024 and rehearsals begin on July 1st. The roles will be double cast. All roles are paid.
Auditions will be held at The Fireside at 1131 Janesville Avenue in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin on Tuesday, May 21st at 6:00 p.m. Callbacks will be held on May 22nd. Please bring a photo (that will not be returned) and a resume, and prepare a short song (no more than 32 bars). There will be an accompanist present. Bring sheet music, children will not be allowed to sing a capella.
We will be seeing children to play the following roles:
Matilda Wormwood – must look 6 to 10 yrs old – vocal range A3 to D5 – height 42”- 48”
An imaginative girl who is clever and wise far beyond her years. She has a thirst for learning that cannot be quenched. A dynamic and resilient energy is at her core. Will be using a British dialect.
Bruce – 7 to 14 yrs old – vocal range C4 to E5 – height MAX 60”
Matilda’s classmate. He is subject to extreme punishment by Miss Trunchbull. Shy but has a big voice at the end, comes into his confidence. Must be comfortable with physical comedy and a British dialect.
Lavender – 7 to 12 yrs old – height MAX 60”
Matilda’s classmate and friend. Precocious and must be comfortable with direct address to the audience and a British dialect.
Matilda’s Schoolmates – 7 to 12 yrs old – height 42”- 60”
Seeking a dynamic and exciting group of young performers to play Amanda, Nigel, Eric, Alice, Hortensia, and Tommy. Understudies for Bruce, Lavender, and Matilda will come from this group. Seeking performers with dance experience, strong singing experience, and a willingness to make bold acting choices, be silly, and have a British dialect.
