The Fireside auditions and hires professional singers, dancers and actors from all over the United States. Many come with Broadway and National Tour experience. All of them come with great talent and a passion for their craft.

Ryan Farnsworth is ridiculously rhapsodic to be returning to his rock roots in THAT’S WHAT I CALL ROCK ‘N ROLL. He has numerous recordings, including an original piece, “Another Day” for Disney Records. “Farns” is a graduate of UC Irvine (BFA in Musical Theatre). Tommy Hahn  This production marks Tommy’s third with The Fireside Theatre (PUMP BOYS AND DINETTES, ROCKIN’ AT THE FIRESIDE). Damien DeShaun Smith hails from Chesapeake, Virginia. International and National Touring credits include RENT (Angel), MAMMA MIA!, and the West End’s Michael Jackson tribute show THRILLER LIVE. BFA Shenandoah Conservatory. Mr. Smith is honored to return to The Fireside after his sidesplitting, comedic tour de force debut portrayal as Rydell High’s Honored Valedictorian Eugene Florczyk in last year’s big crowd pleaser GREASE! Damien also sends all the love and thanks in the world to Mary and Ed for yet another most appreciative and certainly cherished opportunity!


Tonyia Myrie Rue is delighted to join The Fireside Theatre in this summer’s production of THAT’S WHAT I CALL ROCK ‘N ROLL! Tonyia’s credits include NORWEGIAN, DREAM GIRLS Tour, Pittsburgh CLO, ANYTHING GOES, and AIDA just to name a few. Her recent credits includes Short North’s production of MAMMA MIA! and THE FACES OF BLACK HISTORY at Irving Street Rep/McDonalds Corporation. Patrick Morrow (Drums) is thrilled to be back working with Eric Lewis. He returns after performing in BACK TO THE 50’S, ROCKIN’ AT THE FIRESIDE, and HOLLYWOOD SINGS. He spent a few years (572 performances!) with the Equity Tour and original Chicago production of MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, toured with LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE: The Musical and been stationary with Milwaukee Repertory Theater, First Stage Children’s Theater, and Milwaukee Chamber Theater. Patrick has also recorded and toured with Eddie Clendening, The Bellfuries, and The Two Timin’ Four.


George Ballesteros (Bass) is a freelance musician based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He studied music at Concordia University and is currently a member of the UW-Milwaukee Jazz Band. He is the bass guitarist for the Ethan Keller Group and Pineapple Migraine, and enjoys playing with numerous ensembles and groups throughout the Milwaukee area. He loves jazz, blues, soul, and agrees with Victor Wooten: “You can’t hold no groove if you ain’t got no pocket.”


Al Anderson (Trombone), a native of Austin, Minnesota (home of Spam), has been a resident of Watertown since 1977 and taught middle school band there for 30 years. An active professional trombonist, he has performed with a variety of jazz groups including the Dick Jurgens, Guy Lombardo, and Jan Garber Orchestras and Red Hot Dixie. In 2002, Anderson was named the Milwaukee Area Music Industry Reeds/Brass Player of the Year. Retired from teaching, Al spends time performing musical programs for seniors, playing trombone, and traveling.

Jim Doherty (Trumpet) has performed as both sideman and leader, most notably as a member of the Clyde Stubblefield Band, Janet Planet & the Urban World, the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, MadiSalsa, Phat Phunktion, and the Brian Setzer Orchestra. Jim studied trumpet at UW-Madison, Northwestern, and the Eastman School of Music in addition to studying jazz with the renowned tenor saxophonist Jerry Bergonzi. Jim directed the big band at UW-Madison for a decade and currently teaches trumpet privately and directs the East High Jazz Orchestra in Madison.


Joe  Gorman (Guitar) is a Milwaukee Guitarist who has been performing with a wide array of bands and projects over the last 25 years, ranging from country bands like the Phil Delta Group to Fusion bands such as Millennium and Street Life and many things in between. He currently owns a studio in which he records bands and does advertising production music for a wide range of clients.


Curt Hanrahan (Woodwinds) is Director of Jazz Studies at UW-Milwaukee. As a freelance musician he has performed with the Milwaukee Symphony, Skylight Theatre, Broadway productions, and such artists as Ray Charles, Tony Bennett, Johnny Mathis, Rosemary Clooney, Maureen McGovern, Aretha Franklin, Frank Sinatra Jr., and Diane Schurr. John Hibler (Woodwinds) has enjoyed an exciting and fulfilling career in music and education. He has performed with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and in Broadway Show pit orchestras and back up bands for many of the biggest names in show business. He was a member of the Melody Top Orchestra and the Milwaukee Rep’s A CHRISTMAS CAROL pit orchestra. In 1999 the Brookfield East High School Music Dept, under his direction, won a Grammy Award for excellence in music education and in 1997 he was awarded a Distinguished Alumnus Award from UW-Milwaukee.
